Hey Joe, sorry I didn't hang out more, they gave me a table and I was sketching and suddenly the convention was over. I could have had more fun just hanging at your guy's tables, it was cool seeing you and tim. I spent the night in chico, as one of the convention organizer employees was snarky, recognizing me from the Paradise safeway parking lot and didnt have room to give me a lift back to paradise. That whole convention thing was a last second idea sort of thing, I saw the commercial for it in the hotel, and then saw a flier for it at the resource center and suddenly brilliantly thought maybe I can sell some sketches, not realizing beforehand that drawing puts me into an aspherger's syndrome mode, let alone that I've been sleeping witha one eye open forl a week :D
I was a student at  the Pleasant Valley high school right next to the elks lodge, and after 25 years it was totally different now with a mcdonalds and a safeway, so I went to curiously check out the rest of chico. Stopping at starbucks I asked to charge my phone as molly wasnt allowed inside and a customer said "use the outlet outside at the restaurant next door." and the starbucks people raised no objections, then ten minutes later a cop showed up getting ready to arrest me for using the outlet. I showed him my magic red cross disaster survivor paper and then I just said screw this and came back up to my grandpas mountain :D There are still 3 old trailers up here on the backend of the property and a neighbor helped me clean out and disinfect one of them, I thought it would be uninhabitable because it was pretty much open for the dogs for 20 years, but it's better than sleeping at the safeway parking lot :D. She also said I can get water at her place which I was worried about because otherwise I would have to haul it up the canyon from the feather river. Her husband loaned me a solar phone charger and I still have my big solar panel so I'm just going to get another inverter and battery and just wait a few weeks until my brother moves back from alaska. I have audio mp3's of all my favorite t.v. shows, dark shadows, star treks, so as long as I have that to listen to on my phone I'm happy as there is no other entertainment except birdwatching, etc. I'm going to take some before and after photos of the destruction, the fire people ran a bulldozer through everything. What a nightmare! I googled "homeless after fire" and just article after article of dozens of families homeless after apartment fire type articles, I'm lucky I guess this old trailer was still here! Heroes Initiative I think is semi defunct, their main "need help?" link is a 404 dead page, I wrote to the main guy... Brian Azzerello was my  writer/editor for three years at Northstar! Molly's doing much better. Here's my artwebpage:

It was great seeing you as well Adam and I am so sorry for everything that's happened. Sounds like you are keeping your chin up and really that's all one can do in your situation. I am surprised to hear you had an unfortunate encounter with one of the convention organizers, everyone was so kind and generous at the show but I guess that can simply be chalked up to "putting on a game face". I hope things turn around for you and I'd love to catch up further if you are ever in the Fairfield area.

Practice, practice, practice. Draw every day, force yourself to draw the things you do not want/like to draw. Best advice I can give.

Fantastic inking! I want to express my gratitude for the Gnomon inking DVD that you did. I've watched it a couple of times already and it invariably inspires me to keep going with my own inking projects. It revitalizes my love for the artform when I need some encouragement. And all the information and advice there is priceless! Thank you once again for that tutorial and for sharing your art here on DA!
