Have you ever tried inking with Manga Studio software?

Below is a link of Kevin Wolffe inking some of your Penciler collaborators. They are certainly NOT Joe Weems, but it's still pretty interesting.

Best Wishes, and thanks for posting.

It was good seeing you at the show man. Dig the line weights on the glass. I appreciate the little things in the inks.

I spent a week Inking this whilst on my Darkness 85 deadline.
A page a day and then working on this a bit each night till' it was done.
Probably did not take more then 16-17 hours total, just drawn out over a week.

I cant believe how much of it is brush work - I'd have never guessed it. Personally, I never adapted to using a brush, so I greatly admire any of the good inkers who can use a brush to great effect in their work.

Neato.

Yeah, If I'm spotting my pages myself then I usually just hit them hard with the brush first to lay in
shapes. With Finch being such a "solid" Artist I find that the brush lends itself to getting the work done
quickly and give it the look he desires. I'd love to see Mark Farmer Ink some Finch.

side note: I was very fortunate in picking up an excellent Raphael 8404 size 1 that has been treating me like a Golden God
Highly recommended.

My problem with the brush has always been my problem with having to "be in control" of the line movment (or, rather, the possibility of line movement - the dreaded, inevitable stray). I started inking with Rapidographs then Micron Pigmas after they came along - early on, I had absolutely no 'precise' control when using a brush (even when simply spotting inks) and so I never bothered to take the time to learn.

Later on, I tried using (to some varying degrees of success) the Sakura brushpen and even the large, loose 104 and 106 nibs that almost succeeded in giving me that brush-line quality that I was looking for.

Sadly, got set in my ways and now almost exclusively ink with a 102 and simply build my lines instead of running them in one swift movement.

I'll make sure and pick-up the brush you've recommended and give it another shot.

Many thanks for the tip.

Yeah, Farmer's a brushing phenom, that's for certain - all the great inkers I've ever seen over Dale Keown's work (Scott Williams - probably my all-time favorite inker over anybody, yourself, even Dan Panosian) and, in my mind, his still remain the best. Lots of life, great fluidity, excellent separation - the man makes it look easy...and natural.

Scott's hand was touched by a higher power (possibly of Alien origin, who's to say?), it's the only logical answer!
