Tribulations of Abaddon TPB Cover for N.A.S. Studios [link]

Pencils-Patrick Blaine
Ink-Me

I've known Pat for years but this is the first time I've inked him and it was a blast.
Lot's of energy and a generous amount of detail packed into this montage style image which is right up my alley.
Thanks to David Sandoval and N.A.S. Studios for giving me the opportunity.
the only draw back was the paper it was penciled on, note to all pencilers...Don't use Blue Line Art Board, it feathers terribly.
As such this was a mixed media extravaganza, Copic SP, Rotring #.13, Hunt 102 Quill/Deleter Maru tip (when the paper would allow)
and a generous amount of my trusty Raphael 8404 size 1.
Even though it was a slow process of delicately sculpting lines I was fairly happy with the finished product.

Strathmore Bristol board series 300 or 400 smooth or vellum surface is preferred.

Where would be the best place to find this sort of bristol? Online I'm seeing sheets with a minimum size of 22"x30"

You can buy 24 sheet pads of Bristol 300 series in 11X17 from most Art stores. I recommend Art Supply Warehouse in Westminster [link]
I know for a fact they carry them as well as Canson Comic Book Art board by fanboy (which is a strong alternative to Blue Line Art Board if you want the non-repro blue guide lines).
Series 400 does not seem to come in 11X17 sheets any longer sadly...at least not to my knowledge.
